6.4 Use of service providers for the processing of registration slips

Every single accommodation establishment – whether holiday room, holiday apartment or hotel and regardless of the size of the establishment – is obliged in Germany to issue a special registration certificate for each guest in accordance with Section 29, 30 of the Federal Registration Act (BMG). With the Federal Registration Act, which came into force on 1 November 2015, accommodation establishments are for the first time permitted to fill in the registration form with the guest data electronically, print it out and have it signed by the guest by hand on arrival. The host must keep the registration document for one year and destroy it at the latest after the expiry of another three months.

If the accommodation establishment has at least 10 beds, the host is also obliged to report monthly data to the State Statistical Office under the Accommodation Statistics Act.

We comply with these two legal obligations by obtaining the booking data as well as additional online check-in data via the service provider Smoobu GmbH and by reusing them digitally. We therefore handle this digitally in order to ensure that our customers have a smooth and stress-free stay. Only the last signature of the registration certificate is handwritten.
